| The Lambda Community Funds
honored people in the community that have contributed to, supported, and
advocated for the Lesbian, Gay, Transgender, Bisexual, and Intersex
community. Florin JACL's Andy Noguchi was nominated along with
Assembly Member Dave Jones and Assembly Member Leland Yee for the
"Profiles in Courage Award." This award is given to a
person that has shown their commitment to fighting for the LGBTI
community in a traditionally non-LGBTI friendly environment. This
person mush have shown great determination in his/her belief that every
single person deserves to be treated with respect and equality.
Assembly Member Dave Jones was ultimately presented the award, but it
was an honor that Andy's efforts towards promoting "equal rights
for all" was recognized by the greater LGBTI community. |
